About Rechargeable Lithium Ion Batteries
Lithium rechargeable batteries offer specific energies higher than NiMh batteries making them the preferred power choice of high powered flashlights, camp lanterns and battery packs. Lithium batteries perform well in cold weather conditions, do not exhibit memory effects, have low self discharge rates (they can be stored for years and still retain power) and charge rapidly. We offer 14500, 16340, 18650 and 21700 lithium-ion cells.
Types of Rechargeable Lithium Ion Batteries
18650 Rechargeable Batteries
18650 batteries take their name from their initial dimensions: 18mm in diameter, and 65mm long, and are used widely in high drain devices.
21700 Rechargeable Batteries
21700 cells sport 21mm diameters and are 70mm long, and provide more power density than other Lithium-Ion cells.
16340 Rechargeable Batteries
16340 cells take their name from their initial form factor: 16 mm in diameter, and 34mm long, and provide high power density for high drain devices.
14500 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Batteries
While most rechargeable 14500 lithium-ion cells have much higher voltages than AA batteries, Fenix's 14500 cell sports a 1.5v operating voltage, which means it can be used instead of standard AA cells.
