Based off the venerable Hudson Bay pattern axes that were part of the formation of modern day Canada, the Esker Camp axe sports a 3.6 lb carbon steel head that is hand forged in Austria, excels at felling and splitting, and has a pronounced beard for use like a pickaroon. Supported by an ergonomically designed 24" hickory handle, the Esker Camp Axe can be lashed easily onto a pack, and used for heavy, full swings, but also allows for choking up to do finer, more controlled work such as splitting smaller wood and kindling, roughing out, or clearing branches.
