Gränsfors Bruk Hand Hatchet

The Gransfors Hand Hatchet, also known as the Kubben, is a small little hatchet for quite heavy work that is easily packed in a backpack, a toolbox or carried on the belt. It can be used as an axe or a knife, and its textured handle provides increased grip and precision, making it a great axe for artistic wood carving.

The Hand Hatchet features a one pound head and a 3" face, which is the same one pound head that is used on Gransfors' Wildlife Hatchet. But while the Wildlife Hatchet has a 13.5 inch handle, the Hand Hatchet's hickory handle is 9.5 inches - which means that rather than being used for clearing a trail or general outdoor uses, the hand hatchet is designed more for getting behind it and roughing out forms or shapes. It can also be used beside your wood stove to break up larger wood pieces into smaller pieces before they enter the stove.

Like all Gransfors axes, the Gransfors Hand Hatchet is hand-forged using traditional Swedish methods, and comes with a 20 year guarantee. Each axe head comes individually stamped with the smith's initials, while the hickory handle is boiled in linseed oil and rolled in bees wax for a smooth water repellant finish.
