The Helle Temagami Knife is an excellent, robust general purpose outdoor knife. Designed in collaboration with Les Stroud (aka Survivorman), the Temagami epitomizes decades of knife making craftsmanship and an extensive knowledge of the great outdoors.
The Temagami is a full tang knife, but it's designed in such a way that the wood handle wraps around the bottom part of the tang, which keeps the cold steel from against your palm when you're using it in cold weather. The handle of the Helle Temagami Knife is suitable for mid to larger sized hands.
The Helle Temagami knife blade is about 4" long, made from Helle's laminate steel and is available in either stainless or carbon steel variants. The laminate steel features 2 kinds of steel; a hard core that ends up along the blade edge that holds an edge extremely well - if the whole blade was made out of that hard steel, it would be prone to being brittle because it is hard, so they laminate softer steel around the core to allow for flex.
A made in Norway leather sheath comes free with the purchase of this Helle Temagami knife.
