Swedish Fire Torch / Canadian Candle

The Swedish fire torch (also known as a Canadian candle) is an ingenious way of utilizing a single log to provide both a stable platform, and a fuel source to keep fire for cooking fed for many hours without the need to continually add fuel. Tracing it's origins back to at least the 1600's, the Swedish fire torch provided a way for Swedish troops to use readily available pine wood for fuel, without having to forage too far from camp for wood.
