Katadyn Explorer / Explorer Pro Microfilter

The new Katadyn Explorer Microfilter is a two-stage (ceramic and activated charcoal) pump-style water filter designed to remove bacteria, protozoa, cysts, sediments, microplastics and chemicals from water sources, while improving taste and reducing odours. The ceramic cartridge can be cleaned and stored dry between outings to help preserve performance over time, and the rugged design with a steel pump piston stands up to frequent use, and harsh environments.

For those moving beyond typical backcountry travel, the Explorer offers the possibility of filtering viruses (Hepatitis A, Norwalk Virus, Roto Virus, Polio Virus) when travelling internationally, or if sourcing water near agricultural runoff via use of an optional virus filter module included with the Explorer Microfilter Pro model.
