The Mora Bushcraft Black HD model features a heavy duty "robust" carbon steel blade (thicker - 3.2mm, heavier) than the standard stainless steel Bushcraft Force model, and a fitted rubber handle with pronounced finger guard. The blade is not profile-ground, which means that the knife is heftier, more substantial and very useful when slaughtering. The sheath comes with a flexible strap.
Blade lenght: 106 mm, thickness: 3.2 mm.Black Carbon Steel

I bought the famous Morakniv from Canadian Outdoor Equipment. The service was fast and professional. Also, before buying I compared with the competition and Canadian Outdoor Equipment had by far the best deal.

A knife that lives up to its reputation
Review by Steven on 9 Jul 2016 review stating A knife that lives up to its reputation
I was very impressed with this knife, not technically a full tang knife but you would have to be trying to break this knife and even then I'm not convinced you could do it. It's very solid, excellent blade shape, handle shape and grind. I've known about this knife for a long time and finally pulled the trigger on it, it lives up to it's reputation as an all around workhorse of a knife for anything you could need a knife for outdoors. Great service from Canadian Outdoor Equipment aswell.

Mora bushcraft review
Review by Jeremy on 3 Jun 2019 review stating Mora bushcraft review
For the price paid these are a great product . They show up razor sharp. They hold an edge. You can beat them around and they wont let you down. The sheaths are junk so spend some money on a leather one as an upgrade. Sure you can spend a lot more money of a beautiful piece of artwork but as far as bang for your buck goes you cant go wrong with the notation buschcraft black.

Rusty
Review by susan on 11 Feb 2016 review stating Rusty
Like all knives you have to sharpen them. So I sharpened my mora bushcraft black and holy crap. The amount that thing rusts. I used more than enough of multiple oils to see if there was a difference but the slightest bit of it getting in contact with moisture it will rust. So I warn the unless it was just my knife.

Hi Susan - thanks for your review. It isn't just your knife - carbon knives require strict cleaning and oiling regimens to keep them pristine. It sounds like a stainless steel blade may be a better fit in the future.

Great knife, great store
Review by Stefan on 16 Oct 2020 review stating Great knife, great store
Only used the knife a few times on camping trips, but so far so good. Doesn't feel heavy when clipped to your belt, nice to hold in the hand, and keeps a sharp edge.
Also very happy with the buying process from Canadian Outdoor Equipment. Easy purchase, and fast shipping.

The Ultimate Bushcraft Knife
Review by Adam on 29 Jan 2019 review stating The Ultimate Bushcraft Knife
I've spent countless hours reading and watching videos on various outdoor, survival and bushcraft knives. The Mora Bushcraft Black is on the top of many lists, and for very good reason. I decided to pick one up and so far I am loving this knife for a couple of reasons:
First, the blade: 4.3" carbon steel Scandi grind, comes razor sharp, and is easy to maintain with regular stropping. Most outdoor gurus prefer carbon steel over stainless as it is generally easier to sharpen and holds its edge longer. The drawback on carbon blades comes with maintenance, as you need to clean and oil the blade regularly, and/or apply a forced patina for added protection. The Mora Bushcraft Black addresses this issue and comes with a factory applied anti-corrosive black coating, which not only looks incredible but also protects the knife from rust. The blade also has a fantastic 90° spine, great for striking a fire steel or for making finer bark shavings.
Secondly, the ergonomics. This knife just feels fantastic in the hand. The rubberized over-mold and finger choil offer outstanding grip and comfort in wet and dry conditions with no hot spots. It's well balanced and fits very snugly in the Mora plastic sheath, which comes with 3 carry options: belt clip, belt loop, or combine the two for a dangler carry. At just over 9" in total length (4.3" blade) and 1/8" blade thickness this knife is beefy enough for most camp tasks (light chopping/batoning) but still small enough for carving and more intricate work, making it a great choice as an all-around bushcraft camp knife.
To wrap it up, this is a fantastic knife and I look forward to using my Mora Bushcraft Black in the woods for years to come. Pricing here at Canadian Outdoor Equipment was also more competitive then anywhere else, and shipping was extremely fast. Very satisfied with the service! Thanks again
