Helle Nordlys Knife
The Helle Nordlys knife (northern lights in Norwegian) is the little brother of the Helle Nord knife. Following the same lines and contours of the Nord, but with a smaller, 4.8" blade, and a handle that is 1.3 cm shorter, the Nordlys is a great option for those who like the look, feel and styling of the Nord, but found it too big for their purposes.
The Helle Nordlys knife (northern lights in Norwegian) is the little brother of the larger, heavier Nord knife. The Nordlys, like the Nord, sports a full tang blade made from either 14C28N or 12C27 stainless steels, and is designed with the same blade shape and aesthetics, but it's blade measures in at 4.8" (as opposed to the Nord's 5.8" blade), making it more in line with traditional Norwegian all-around outdoor knives. The Nordlys is available with either a traditional Scandinavian grind, or new, for 2025, a flat ground edge.
Useful for making kindling for fires, food prep, butchering, creating sparks off of ferro rods, sharpening sticks, carving spoons and more, whilst being lightweight and balanced, the Nordlys is destined to become a classic in the Helle pantheon.
