Our Canadian made moose and deer hide gauntlet mitts are tough, durable and warm. Moose and deer leather is naturally water repellent, and stays soft and supple in the cold, unlike cow's leather.

These hard wearing mitts are made in Ontario, Canada, and the hides come from a program whereby hunters donate the hides of the animals that they've harvested.

The moose gauntlet mitt features a long collar to stop snow from getting up underneath the cuff of your jacket, and all the mitts come with an acrylic liner. When the acrylic is fluffed up, it does a good job of holding in the heat. As you wear it though, the salt and the sweat from your hand will matt down the liner, so it is important that you do remove the liner (as it is removable) and put it through a washing machine and then a dryer to fluff it up again a few times throughout the season.

Our gauntlets come in normal or one-fingered models, and feature a removable washable acrylic thermal pile liner. For very extreme conditions, using a mitt one size larger than your size allows for the use of a secondary liner such as our Woolpower Wrist Gaitors or Woolpower Merino Wool Mitt should it be required.
